Depression

Find light in the heaviness—one step at a time.

Depression can feel like a constant weight—making it hard to enjoy things, connect with others, or even get through the day. It may show up as sadness, exhaustion, irritability, low motivation, or a sense of emptiness that’s hard to explain. For some, it’s triggered by a specific event; for others, it slowly builds without a clear cause.

No matter how it began, you don’t have to face it alone.

In therapy, we’ll work together to understand what’s behind the heaviness—whether it’s rooted in early life experiences, past trauma, negative self-beliefs, or overwhelming stress. You’ll have a safe space to talk honestly about what you’re feeling without fear of judgment.

There are different forms of depression, including:

Major Depressive Disorder – persistent sadness, lack of interest, and physical symptoms like fatigue or sleep changes
Persistent Depressive Disorder (Dysthymia) – long-term low mood that may not be intense but feels constant
Situational Depression – triggered by life changes or stressful events like loss, transitions, or illness
High-Functioning Depression – appearing “fine” on the outside while struggling internally

Therapeutic Approaches I Use

In therapy, we’ll gently explore what’s contributing to the heaviness—whether it’s unresolved past experiences, harsh self-judgments, relationship patterns, or chronic stress. Together, we’ll work to reduce symptoms, reconnect with your strengths, and restore a sense of meaning and motivation in your life.

Schema Therapy

To identify and shift deep-rooted beliefs like “I’m not good enough” or “I don’t matter

EMDR Therapy

To help process past emotional wounds that may still be influencing your mood and energy

Cognitive and Emotion-Focused Techniques

To challenge negative thought loops and develop healthier emotional coping strategies

There Is a Way Forward

Depression can make it hard to see possibilities—but change is possible. With the right support, even the smallest step can lead to a shift in how you feel and how you see yourself.

Even when motivation feels out of reach or emotions feel flat, there is often a quiet part of you still hoping for relief. Therapy creates space for that part to be heard—to gently explore what’s been weighing you down, make sense of your experience, and slowly reconnect with your inner strength.

You don’t have to keep living in a fog of heaviness or disconnection..

Therapy can help you move through the darkness, reconnect with yourself, and feel more like you again.
