Phobias

Free yourself from fear and move through life with greater confidence and ease.

Phobias are more than just fears—they can create intense anxiety and avoidance that limits how you live your life. Whether it’s a fear of flying, driving, needles, elevators, animals, or something else, phobias can feel overwhelming and hard to control, even when you logically know the situation isn’t dangerous.

While phobias are often linked to specific triggers, the emotional and physical reactions they cause—like panic, sweating, dizziness, or a racing heart—are very real. These experiences can cause you to avoid certain places, activities, or opportunities altogether.

There are different types of phobias, such as:

Specific Phobias – intense fear of a particular object or situation (e.g., flying, heights, animals)
Agoraphobia – fear of being in situations where escape might be difficult (e.g., crowded places, public transport)
Emetophobia – fear of vomiting or seeing others vomit
Trypanophobia – fear of needles or injections
Driving Phobia – anxiety or panic related to being behind the wheel

Therapeutic Approaches I Use

In therapy, we’ll explore what’s underneath the fear—whether it’s tied to a past experience, a sense of helplessness, or something you can’t quite name. We’ll work to gently reduce your reaction to the trigger, build your confidence, and expand your ability to face feared situations with more ease and control.

Schema Therapy

EMDR Therapy

There Is a Way Forward

Living with a phobia can be exhausting and isolating—but it doesn’t have to stay that way. With support, your fear can begin to lose its power over your daily life.

Even if avoidance has become a habit or the fear feels “irrational,” therapy can help you approach it with compassion and courage—giving you tools to slowly face what once felt impossible.

You don’t have to keep living in fear.

Therapy can help you understand your phobia, gently rewire your response to it, and open up space for freedom, confidence, and choice in your everyday life.
